Why Yarn Colors May Appear Different on Screen vs. In Real LifeUpdated 6 months ago

Colors on screens can appear slightly different than in person due to two main factors:

  1. Backlit Screens: Screen colors are illuminated from behind, making them appear brighter or more vibrant than in natural light. This effect is most noticeable in lighter shades, which can appear a bit more vivid or up to a shade lighter on screen than in real life.

  2. Photographic Lighting: Yarn is often photographed with professional lighting or a flash to capture its true hue and details. However, even with careful editing, this lighting can sometimes enhance highlights and reduce shadows, creating a more evenly lit look that may not fully reflect natural lighting conditions.

In person, colors are seen under ambient or natural light, where light is reflected off the yarn, giving colors a slightly richer or deeper look than on screen.
